The 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser is a compact five-passenger wagon that offers a versatile cabin, a retro look, and a comfortable ride. The 2009 PT Cruiser comes in three trim levels base LX, Touring, and the top-of-the-line Limited.

The major highlight of the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser is its roomy and utilitarian interior. It offers 32 different seating and trunk configuration and a total cargo space of 98.9 cubic feet. A pair of 15-inch wheels is standard on the LX; the Touring gets 16-inch wheels, while 17-inch polished aluminum wheels are offered on the Limited. Touring versions can be equipped with an optional set of 16-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels.

Two engine variants are offered. A 150-horsepower 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine is standard on LX and Touring trim levels, while the Limited is built to perform with a turbo-charged 2.4-liter engine rated at 180 horsepower. The 2009 PT Cruiser LX and Touring can be equipped with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission, while the Limited comes with a standard four-speed automatic transmission. Estimated fuel economy of the LX and Touring models is 21/26 mpg (city/highway), while that of the Limited is 18/24 mpg (city/highway).

Comprehensive safety gadgets standard on the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser include a tire pressure monitoring system; manually-adjustable seats; advanced front multi-stage airbags; supplemental side curtain airbags; supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags; Sentry Key; and speed-sensitive power locks. Four-wheel disc anti-lock brake system and traction control are standard on the Limited trim and optional on others.
