2010 Dodge Ram 5500
Quick Quote
OVERVIEW
The 2010 RAM 5500 Chassis Cab heavy duty truck is available with numerous class-leading attributes including class-leading brakes and pistons and a standard diesel exhaust brake system that extends brake life while giving the driver increased control. The RAM 5500 Cabs are available in two trim levels - ST and SLT.
EXTERIOR
The RAM 5500 Chassis Cab lineup includes 4x2, 4x4, dual-rear-wheel, regular and Quad Cab models. All these models have been designed, engineered, tested and built to meet strict standards of commercial truck buyers.
Expanded capability and durability with a commercial-grade chassis mated to a one-piece C-channel rear-frame rail (50,000-psi steel strength) are the highlights of Ram 5500 Chassis Cab models. Three cab-axle lengths (60, 84 and 120 inches) are available. The maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 19,500 lbs. The key interior features include AM/FM stereo with CD player, 2 or 4 speakers, Heavy Duty Vinyl 40 / 20 / 40 split bench seat, cloth 40 / 20/ 40 bench seat and air conditioning (SLT).
ENGINE
A 6.7-Liter I6 Cummins turbo Diesel engine generates 305 horsepower and 610 lb.-ft. of torque delivering superior fuel economy while ensuring durability and low cost of ownership for the commercial customer. The RAM 5500 Chassis Cabs offer a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission - both with Power Take-Off (PTO) capability.
SAFETY
The antilock brakes fitted with electronic sensors prevent wheel lockup and help in maintaining directional control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. The Next Generation multistage front air bags sense the severity of the impact and inflate with different levels of force. The other key safety features include a driver's side air bag housed in the steering wheel hub, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) and a front passenger side air bag concealed behind a door in the upper portion of the instrument panel.
