Overview

The 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser five-seat compact wagon offers the most desired features like the efficient 2.4-liter four-cylinder with standard automatic transmission, cruise control, air conditioning and Electronic Vehicle Information Center at a value price. The new standard convenience features for 2010 include four-wheel Anti-lock disc Brakes (ABS), 16-inch aluminum wheels, tire-pressure Monitoring (TPM) and chrome exterior accents include body-side moldings, grille and door handles. It is available in a single, well-equipped trim - Classic.

Power and performance

A 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine, rated at 150 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque, provides power to the PT Cruiser. A four-speed automatic that drives the front wheels is the only transmission available. It yields 19 mpg in city and 24 on highways.

Body and styling

Unique fenders, roofline and high belt-line proportions of the PT Cruiser remind of 1930s and 1940s hot-rod styling. The chrome body-side moldings, door handles, 16-inch wheels and grille represent Chrysler's high level of detail and style. The intriguing interior includes chrome rings highlight the Bright Silver Metallic instrument panel's three gauges, rotating air vents and Chrysler signature analog clock. The PT Cruiser Classic features 32 front- and rear-seat configurations to accommodate any cargo need quickly and conveniently. The rear seats can be completely removed to get additional luggage space of 62.7 cubic feet. The key features include full power accessories, air-conditioning, fog lights, a rear spoiler, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a trip computer, keyless entry and a four-speaker audio system with a CD player and auxiliary audio jack.

Comprehensive safety gadgets standard on the Chrysler PT Cruiser include a tire pressure monitoring system; advanced front multi-stage airbags; supplemental side curtain airbags; supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags; Sentry Key; and speed-sensitive power locks.
